One item, a thousand uses
Versatile and refined, the pinecone cachepot lends itself to various uses: centerpiece, decorative element on a sideboard, fruit bowl, catch-all, or in its classic role as a flowerpot. Each scale of the pinecone is hand-moulded and applied one by one, fired, glazed, and decorated — a process that makes each piece unrepeatable.
Why choose Kamà
The small asymmetries and color nuances are not imperfections: they are the authentic signature of being handmade. No two cachepots are identical. By purchasing this piece, you bring home a fragment of Sicilian artisanal history with over a thousand years of tradition.

STAGES OF CERAMIC PROCESSING

FORMING
Clay is molded to create the shape

DRYING
The water contained in the clay is evaporated

FIRST FIRING
It occurs at a temperature of about 1000 degrees. The biscuit is formed, still porous

ENAMELING
It is the method by which the biscuit is coated with glaze, a vitreous layer that makes it waterproof

DECORATION
This is achieved through the talent of the master decorators who meticulously create the typical decorations of Caltagirone ceramics with their brushes

SECOND COOKING
It occurs at a temperature of 900 degrees and serves to irreversibly fix the enamel, making the piece very durable over time
