La Dama Vittoria - Female Moor's Head in Caltagirone Ceramic – "Le Dame" Collection
Bring the authentic charm of Sicilian tradition into your home with this splendid female Moor's Head, a masterpiece of artistic craftsmanship inspired by the nobility and elegance of historical Sicilian ladies.
Elegant and imposing, at 42 cm high, it is a piece entirely made and hand-painted.
Vittoria was the first to be molded; she is the pioneer of the collection and will remain a unique piece, therefore she will bear the inscription no. 1. Vittoria is elegant, understated, and refined. Vittoria was created to be classic and delicate; the green and blue colors create a relaxing and subtle chromatic mix. Her red lips accentuate her femininity and create a contrast that also makes her modern at the same time.
This creation combines centuries of history with a sophisticated design, perfect for enriching both classic and contemporary environments. The fair face, with its expressive and magnetic gaze, is framed by a lavish headdress decorated with the ornate baroque motifs typical of tradition (acanthus leaves) in the vibrant shades of cobalt blue, ochre yellow, and copper green. Vittoria will become the focal point of any room.

STAGES OF CERAMIC PROCESSING

FORMING
Clay is molded to create the shape

DRYING
The water contained in the clay is evaporated

FIRST FIRING
It occurs at a temperature of about 1000 degrees. The biscuit is formed, still porous

ENAMELING
It is the method by which the biscuit is coated with glaze, a vitreous layer that makes it waterproof

DECORATION
This is achieved through the talent of the master decorators who meticulously create the typical decorations of Caltagirone ceramics with their brushes

SECOND COOKING
It occurs at a temperature of 900 degrees and serves to irreversibly fix the enamel, making the piece very durable over time
